Netflix Has Cancelled 'The Punisher' After Two Seasons

Netflix Cancels The Punisher

Shortly after the premiere of its second season on the streaming service, Marvel’s “The Punisher” has been axed. Deadline reports that "Jessica Jones" has also bit the dust. This news isn't that surprising as Netflix has already pulled the plug on all other Marvel adaptations.

There is a tad bit of good news to report though, while there may not be a third season of the Jon Bernthal-led "Punisher" series, the already completed third season of the Krysten Ritter starring “Jessica Jones” will be released on the streaming service, but that's all fans will get after that.

Bernthal wrote on Instagram this week, “To all who have served. All who know loss. All who love and understand Frank and his pain. It has been an honor to walk in his boots. I’m endlessly grateful to the comic fans and the men and women of the Armed Services and law enforcement community who Frank means so much to. Thank you to the USMC and all the wonderful soldiers who trained me. Go Hard. Be safe.”

This is most certainly the end of the Marvel/Netflix partnership that began back in 2013 with "The Defenders" limited series.

"DareDevil", "Iron Fist" and "Luke Cage" were all cancelled last year by Netflix. Were sure this has something to do with Disney launching their own streaming service later this year.
