Ari Aster took the horror community by storm last year with the release of his phenomenal directorial debut, Hereditary, and he's back this year with a brand new horror film titled Midsommar, which will also be released by A24!
The film stars Jack Reynor, Will Poulter and Florence Pugh with Vilhem Blomgren, William Jackson Harper, Ellora Torchia and Archie Madekwe.
“Pugh and Reynor will play a couple that travels to Sweden to visit their friend’s rural hometown for its fabled mid-summer festival. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.”
Midsommar is being called a “Scandinavian folk horror” film, and A24 has shared the very first tease for the film on Twitter this morning.
A24 will release the film in theaters on August 9th, 2019.
