Easily one of the most exciting announcements of the year is that Leigh Whannell has written and will be directing a new take on Universal's The Invisible Man for Blumhouse, no doubt an attempt to make up for the failed Dark Universe. The film is said to be lower-budget and character-driven, and casting for the project in now underway.
Variety has reported today that Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”, Jordan Peele’s Us) is currently in “the extremely early stages” of negotiations to star in Whannell's new take on the Universal Monster classic.
Sources also indicate that Johnny Depp, who was originally tapped to play the title character, will not be involved.
