Earlier this week, we told you that Neil Marshall's Hellboy had received a hard "R" rating, and today we've been treated to a brand new trailer. Even though the film seems to carry a tone similar to Guillermo del Toro’s movies, it most certainly will contain a bit more of the red stuff.
The trailer also gives us more of a glimpse at Milla Jovovich's character Nimue. the film's villain. Oh, and there's a shit load of monsters. This trailer is much better than the first, which was released back in December, and the film looks like one hell of a good time!
Hellboy is "Rated R for strong bloody violence and gore throughout, and language."
In addition to Harbour and Jovovich, Hellboy also stars Ian McShane in the role of Professor Broom and Daniel Dae Kim playing Ben Daimio. Penelope Mitchell as Ganeida; and Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan with Sophie Okonedo (After Earth), Brian Gleeson (mother!) and Alistair Petrie (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story).
"The new story sees the hero squaring off against a medieval sorceress who seeks to destroy humankind."
Aron Coleite wrote the latest draft of a script by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola. Larry Gordon, Lloyd Levin and Mike Richardson produce, with Christa Campbell, Lati Grobman, and Carl Hampe executive producing.
Hellboy arrives in theaters and IMAX on April 12th, 2019.
