Jason Blum Comments On The Likelihood Of A Third 'Happy Death Day'

Happy Death Day 3 Unlikely Jason Blum

We recently learned that Happy Death Day was planned to be a trilogy, with the sequel's end credits scene setting things up for another entry, but the unfortunate under-performance of Happy Death Day 2U at the box office has kind of cast some doubt on things. Even though the sequel has, so far, brought in over $50 million worldwide on a $9 million production budget, this is a meager amount when compared to the first film's $125 million worldwide total.

In a Twitter Q&A last night, producer Jason Blum was asked about the likelihood of Happy Death Day 3, to which he responded, “Not very [likely], but not impossible.”

In a recent chat with Entertainment Weekly, director Christopher Landon explained, “I have more than an idea. I always imagined this as a trilogy, so I have the third movie, but it’s just a question of whether this one does well. I would love to make the third one. I think it’s a really bonkers, fun idea.”
