American Psycho director Mary Harron has reteamed with the film's co-writer Guinevere Turner for Charlie Says, a true crime drama that centers on the three "Manson Family" women who were sentenced to death following the infamous Charles Manson murder case.
IFC has acquired U.S. rights to the film, which is set for a theatrical and VOD release on April 10th, 2019.
Matt Smith ("Doctor Who") will play Manson in the film, and we've got your first look at Smith in the role courtesy of a new teaser trailer. Charlie Says is being described as “a provocative new perspective on one of the most notorious crimes of the 20th century.”
Hannah Murray plays Leslie Van Houten, Sosie Bacon plays Patricia Krenwinkel, Marianne Rendón is Susan Atkins. “The X-Files” star Annabeth Gish plays Virginia Carlson, head of the California Institute for Women, with Chace Crawford plays Manson family member Tex Watson. The film also stars Suki Waterhouse, Odessa Young, Carla Gugino, Kaylie Carter and Merritt Wever.
