10 years after the release of Ruben Fleischer's Zombieland, filming has begun on the follow-up to the 2009 zombie comedy titled Zombieland: Double Tap, which will reunite all four of the original cast members. Set to release in theaters this October, stars Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg have offered insight to how things are going on set in new interviews out of SXSW.

“What we’ve shot so far, I’m really impressed with,” Harrelson told Entertainment Weekly. “Getting to hang out with these guys — Emma, and Abbie, and Jesse, and Ruben — I feel so lucky, really, really lucky. You know, it’s literally laughing all day long, and that’s your job. Like, my job is, I laugh all day long? It seems unbelievable. So, I feel really lucky right now.”

“It’s going really well," Eisenberg told Movie Web. "Just resting on our laurels and really cocky [laughs]. No, the opposite. We’re working so hard. It’s one of these movies that, people loved it for personal reasons. So it’s not just a big hit movie. People love it for personal reasons so you want to make sure it’s as funny and as personal as the other one.”

Harrelson, Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin will all reprise their roles. Luke Wilson, Thomas Middleditch, Zoey Deutch, Avan Jogia and Rosario Dawson have also joined the cast.

In the film, “Through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.”

Fleischer will return to direct, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are also returning to write the script. Gavin Polone returns as producer, while Reese and Wernick will also serve as executive producers.

Zombieland: Double Tap hits theaters on October 11th, 2019.
