If you like your westerns on the more dark and violent side of things, we've got some exciting news for you! Collider reports that Park Chan-wook‘s (Oldboy, Thirst) next feature in an ultra-violent western thriller titled The Brigands of Rattlecreek, written by S. Craig Zahler, writer/ director of the absolutely phenomenal films Bone Tomahawk and Brawl in Cell Block 99! The film has been picked up by Amazon Studios.

The site also notes that Matthew McConaughey is being courted to star, and after his magnificent performance as Rust Cohle in "True Detective" Season One, we're all in on this!

The film follows a sheriff and a doctor who seek revenge against a group of bandits who use the cover of a torrential thunderstorm to rob and terrorize the occupants of a small town.

Bradley Fischer (Shutter Island) will produce.
