Jon Turteltaub's The Meg made quite a big splash during its theatrical run last summer, grossing over $500 million worldwide, and we learned back in October that a sequel to the film was already in development. Today, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura provides a very small update to Cinema Blend.
“We’re working on a script. So you never know until you get a good script," Bonaventura told the site. “I was very thankful that the audience got that we were just trying to have fun, [and] not take ourselves seriously at all.”
With a handful of Steve Alten penned books in the franchise, there's certainly more than enough sequel source material to choose from. Stay tuned for more updates.
