From the producer of the immensely disturbing Killing Ground, Lisa Shaunessy, we have some grotesque new images from Odin’s Eye’s The Furies, an upcoming slasher that's being described as "a gripping female-driven horror film."
In the film, a young woman faces her darkest fears with seven other unwilling participants in a deadly game. A game that can only have one winner.
The film’s Sydney-based writer and director, Tony D’Aquino, stated that his main objective with the film was to capture the look and feel of the uncompromising horror films of the ‘70s. Also, in creating the eight killers in The Furies, the team drew inspiration from Halloween, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th, The Burning, (finally, The Burning gets some love!) and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
D'Aquinto stated that he wanted to “do everything in camera, not in CGI” explaining: “I want the violence to be messy and visceral!” And you can tell that he meant what he said in these images.
Supposedly, over one hundred liters of blood were used during production of the film in the country town of Bywong – a historic gold mining village just outside of Australia’s capital city, Canberra.
