William Sadler Will Return To The Role Of Death In 'Bill & Ted 3'

William Sadler Returning Bill & Ted 3

It was officially announced last week that Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will be reuniting for Hammerstone Studios and Orion’s Bill & Ted 3: Face the Music, which is scheduled to be released next year. Many fans have been asking if William Sadler will be reprising his iconic role as the Grim Reaper, and the official Twitter account for the film has confirmed today that he indeed will be!

In case you didn't know, Sadler played Death in 1991's Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. Just last year, Sadler expressed that he would love to return to the role.

“Following 1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, the stakes are higher than ever for William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. (Winter) and Theodore “Ted” Logan (Reeves). Yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny, the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure, when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe. Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends.”

The third film in the franchise will be directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) from a screenplay by original Bill & Ted writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon. Production is set to begin this summer!

Bill & Ted will return on April 21st, 2020.
