Some will fight the darkness, others will become it.

Netflix has today announced an April 10th release date for Annabelle and Wish Upon director John Leonetti's batshit insane (pun intended) The Silence.

Along with the premiere date announcement comes the first trailer for the film, which looks to be a solid mix of Bird Box and A Quiet Place with a bit of 1999's Bats thrown in for good measure.

"When the world is under attack from terrifying creatures who hunt their human prey by sound, 16-year old Ally Andrews (Kiernan Shipka), who lost her hearing at 13, and her family seek refuge in a remote haven. But they discover a sinister cult who are eager to exploit Ally's heightened senses."

The Silence also stars Stanley Tucci, Miranda Otto, John Corbett, Kate Trotter and Kyle Breitkopf.

The film is based on the best-selling novel by Tim Lebbon (“Star Wars: Into The Void”) with a screenplay by the Van Dyke brothers, Carey and Shane (Chernobyl Diaries).
