IFC Midnight has released the official trailer for Josh Lobo's debut feature I Trapped the Devil, which will be released in limited theaters and on VOD platforms April 26th, 2019.
The Christmas-based horror film centers on one man's descent into paranoia after he traps who he thinks to be the devil in his basement.
“Christmas is supposed to be a time for peace and joyful family reunions. But when Matt and his wife Karen show up unannounced at the home of his estranged brother Steve to celebrate the holidays, they are instead greeted with a horrifying surprise: trapped in the basement is a man. But not just any man. Steve believes that his hostage is none other than the devil himself. As shock and skepticism turn to fear and paranoia, Matt and Karen find themselves facing a terrifying quandary: is Steve dangerously unhinged? Or could the mysterious stranger really be evil incarnate?"
I Trapped the Devil stars AJ Bowen (You’re Next, A Horrible Way to Die), Jocelin Donahue (House of the Devil), Chris Sullivan ("Stranger Things"), Scott Poythress (The Signal), and Susan Burke (Southbound)
Lobo produced the film alongside Spence Nicholson, Rowan Russell and Scott Weinberg.
I Trapped the Devil will also screen the following film festivals prior to release: Chattanooga Film Festival, Minneapolis-St. Paul Int'l Film Festival, Motor City Nightmares and Phoenix Film Festival.
