Ahead of his match against Triple H at WrestleMania this Sunday night, we've learned that Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Blade Runner 2049) has signed on for a role in Zack Snyder's upcoming Netflix zombie film, Army of the Dead.

Netflix acquired Army of the Dead from Warner Bros., which was first revealed to be the works all the way back in 2007. Production is expected to begin this summer with a potential budget of $70 million, according to Deadline.

“The adventure is set amid a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, during which a man assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.”

“There are no handcuffs on me at all with this one,” Snyder told THR back in January. “It will be the most kick-ass, self-aware — but not in a wink-to-the-camera way — balls-to-the-wall zombie freakshow that anyone has ever seen.”

Snyder will produce and direct through his own company Stone Quarry, with his wife Deborah, Army of the Dead was written by Joby Harold.
