MGM promises that this Halloween will be creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky when The Addams Family returns to the big screen in an all-new animated film. Directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan, the film will release in theaters on October 11th, and today sees the debut of the first trailer.
The outlandish comedy introduces Charlize Theron as Morticia, Oscar Isaac as Gomez, Chloë Grace Moretz as Wednesday, Finn Wolfhard as Pugsley, Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, Bette Midler as Grandmama, and Allison Janney as the antagonist Margaux Needler.
The teaser trailer doesn't offer much in terms of plot details, but it does a great job with introducing us to the iconic characters. The new film's tone seems to be in line with the classic show and movie iterations, with dark humor and quirkiness, including a Pennywise homage featuring a red balloon.
