Fans raved about Alexandre Aja's latest horror entry, Crawl, at CinemaCon where Paramount Pictures debuted the first ever footage from the film.
Attendees called the footage “bloody and chaotic,” and likening it to “47 Meters Down meets Jaws.” That sounds about right for a film from the director of High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes (2006), Piranha (2010), and Mirrors!
Crawl stars Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper, both stars of Maze Runner.
Scodelario will play a young woman who, while struggling to save her father during a Category 5 hurricane, finds herself trapped inside a flooding house and fighting for her life against Florida’s most savage and feared predators.
The film sounds very similar to Burning Bright, which trapped Briana Evigan in a house with a ravenous tiger during a hurricane.
Sam Raimi, the man behind Evil Dead, produces with Craig J. Flores (300: Rise of an Empire).
Crawl arrives in theaters on July 12th, 2019. Check out the first two images from the film above and below.
