Back in January, Dario Argento made it rather clear that he wasn't a fan of Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria, a reimagining of his 1977 horror classic, stating at the time: “It did not excite me… it betrayed the spirit of the original film.”
In a new chat with Interview Magazine, Argento doubles down on the negative criticism.
“To me, the remake of Suspiria doesn’t look like a well-realized project. It lacks fear, music, tension, and scenic creativity,” Argento told the site.
He added, speaking of other new horror hits, “Films like Get Out and Hereditary have struck me for their beautiful photography, their plot, and their production.”
Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria (read our review) arrives on Amazon Prime May 3rd.
