Last year, we learned that Guillermo del Toro would be producing the upcoming thriller Nightmare Alley. Well, Deadline reports tonight that del Toro will also direct and that Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to star in the film! Del Toro co-wrote the script with Kim Morgan.
The film is based on the 1947 movie about a corrupt con-man who teams up with a female psychiatrist to trick people into giving them money.
Like the original film, Nightmare Alley is based upon the novel by William Lindsay Gresham.
J. Miles Dale will also produce.
Production is set to begin this Fall and this will be del Toro’s first film since winning Best Picture for The Shape Of Water.
