Universal Teamed Up With Deviant Art For 'Glass' Art Contest; Check Out The Winners

With the Digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD release of Glass now available, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment recently partnered with the online art community, Deviant Art, to host the “Heroes vs. Villains” art contest judged by M. Night Shyamalan.

The contest asked artists to create their very own characters from M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable/Split/Glass universe – from their look to their backstory and abilities — and fit them into this grounded superhero world in a way that would feel true to the spirit of the franchise. These new characters represent as the future of the world established by Glass, with Shyamalan himself determining the best fan-made heroes and villains of the bunch.

To support the contest, director M. Night Shyamalan also participated in an interview (below) to discuss the film and his overall creative process.

The “Heroes vs Villains” contest concluded with the selection of some truly notable winners. You'll find the first place winning entries in the Glass “Heroes vs. Villains” contest below, you can check out the rest of the winners here.

First Place Villain:

IMPERIUM by BLUNELL

M. Night Shyamalan's comments: "I thought there was something about the humanity and emotion that drew me to this. That mirror where you barely see the person he's holding is really powerful. Since in the world of Glass, the powers are very subtle and interpretative, his power [...] is something that one could have, and I like that it's believable and grounded."

First Place Hero:

AURA by GRAFIK

M. Night Shyamalan's comments: "I picked this because it felt like something connected to [...] being able to sense people's auras or energies. I like how the Beast looks like he's humbled in front of her and it was composed really well. It really provoked my imagination."
