Serj Tankian And Bear McCreary Cover Blue Öyster Cult's 'Godzilla' For Upcoming Film

Godzilla Serj Tankian Bear McCreary

In just a little over a month, we'll bear witness to one of the year's biggest films when Michael Dougherty's Godzilla: King of the Monsters stomps into theaters. While we (impatiently) wait, two tracks from the official soundtrack have been released today. One being "Old Rivals,” a complete track from Bear McCreary‘s score, and the other features McCreary and System of a Down's Serj Tankian covering Blue Öyster Cult's hit "Godzilla"!

Enjoy both tracks below!

The sequel takes place five years after the first film.

"The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance."

Directed by Michael Dougherty from a script by Zach Shields (Krampus, Trick 'r Treat), the film stars Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds and Zhang Ziyi.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be released in 3D and 2D in select theaters and IMAX on May 31st.
