'Twin Peaks' Actress Peggy Lipton Has Passed Away

Peggy Lipton Dead At 72

Sad news this weekend as we've lost another member of the "Twin Peaks" family. It’s been confirmed by LA Times that actress/model Peggy Lipton has passed away from cancer at the age of 72. Her death was announced by daughters Kidada and Rashida Jones.

"She made her journey peacefully with her daughters and nieces by her side. We feel so lucky for every moment we spent with her," Kidada and Rashida said in a statement on Saturday. "We can’t put all of our feelings into words right now, but we will say: Peggy was and will always be our beacon of light, both in this world and beyond. She will always be a part of us."

Lipton starred in several movies and TV shows but she was most known for her role in "Twin Peaks" as Norma Jennings, the owner of the Double R Diner. She played the character during the show's original run, and returned to the role for the 2017 revival.

Lipton, who began her career as a model, also starred in several movies and TV shows, including “The Mod Squad," “Bewitched,” “The Alfred Hitchcock Hour,” Purple People Eater, “Deadly Nightmares,” Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, “Alias” and A Dog’s Purpose.

We extend our deepest condolences to Lipton's family and friends.
