'Godzilla' 1998 Just Received A 4K Ultra HD Release

Godzilla 4K Ultra HD

With Godzilla: King of the Monsters soon to be stomping into theaters this month, now is the perfect time to revisit Godzilla movies from the past, one of them being Roland Emmerich’s well-despised Godzilla, released in 1998. Speaking of the film, the Americanized take on Japan's beloved Kaiju just received a 4K Ultra HD release this week.

Godzilla has been remastered in 4K from the original camera negative with High Dynamic Range and a Dolby Atmos soundtrack, and includes the following special features:

  • Audio commentary by visual effects supervisor Volker Engel and associate visual effects supervisor Karen Goulekas

  • Behind the scenes of Godzilla with Charles Caiman

  • All-Time Best-of Godzilla Fight Scenes

  • “Heroes” music video by The Wallflowers

Of course, many of us have slanderous things to say about Godzilla's romp through The Big Apple, but let's spread some positivity. Tell us something you enjoy about the film in the comments.

I'll start. I appreciate that the film spawned "Godzilla: The Animated Series," a favorite during my childhood.
