New 'Child's Play' Featurette And TV Spot Provide A Better Look At The New Chucky

Child's Play 2019 Chucky

Thus far, the marketing campaign for Orion's Child's Play remake has kept Chucky in the shadows, for the most part, but two new videos released today give us a much better look at the reimagined dealy doll!

One video, a TV spot titled "Best Buddy" (via Bloody Disgusting), features much more footage of the A.I. driven pint-size killer.

In the other, a behind the scenes featurette, "Robo Chucky" is brought to life by a hard-working team of special effects artists and puppeteers for the film, which has taken a (mostly) practical approach to its doll.

Additionally, we've also learned today that Child's Play has been rated "R" by the MPAA for “Bloody horror violence, and language throughout.”

In the contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic, Karen (Aubrey Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll, is unaware of its more sinister nature.

The cast also includes Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio and Brian Tyree Henry.

Lars Klevberg directed from Tyler Burton Smith’s (Kung Fury) screenplay. Bear McCreary ("The Walking Dead") will provide the film's score.

Child's Play arrives theaters on June 21st, 2019.
