Jen and Sylvia Soska, more commonly known as the Soska Sisters, have wrapped filming on a remake of David Cronenberg's Rabid, so it's rather fitting that they've now joined forces with a longtime producer of Cronenberg movies.
As reported by THR, the Soskas have inked a first-look deal with Martin Katz's Prospero Pictures, the production company behind more recent Cronenberg films A Dangerous Method, Cosmopolis and Maps to the Stars. The site details, “Under the pact, the Soska twins’ Twisted Twins Productions will give Martin Katz’s production shingle the exclusive first right to develop and produce film and TV properties originated, written and directed by the sisters.”
“The Soska sisters have set a new standard for female-driven genre filmmaking and we are so excited to be in business with them for the long-haul,” Katz said in a statement.
“Marty and Karen just viscerally understand the kind of elevated genre we’ve been making all our lives. We want to make all our movies with them,” the Soska Sisters added in their own statement.
Rabid is expected to hit the festival scene later this year.
