Father knows best.
C.J. Graham is widely known in the horror community for his portrayal of Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, and he's now returning to the franchise in the fan film Friday the 13th: Vengeance, where he'll be playing Elias Voorhees, Jason's father. Today brings the release of the film's first trailer, which looks to be a very high quality production and a real treat for Friday the 13th fans!
Directed by Jeremy Brown, the Kickstarter-funded Friday the 13th: Vengeance is being touted as an (unofficial) sequel to Jason Lives that takes place roughly thirty years after the events of that film.
"The story begins with Elias Voorhees, Jason’s father, returning to Crystal Lake and a string of grisly murders that soon follows his arrival. After hearing the news of the most recent killings Tommy Jarvis then goes missing, which leaves it up to his daughter Angelica Jarvis to rise to the challenge of not only finding her father, but also finding a way to destroy his old nemesis Jason Voorhees in the process. Armed with knowledge never previously known about Jason, Angelica may prove to be his greatest threat yet, which culminates in an epic showdown of Jarvis vs. Voorhees."
"With a truly unique story, we believe this is the film fans have always wanted, but never gotten… until now," Brown and his team promise.
In addition to Graham, the fan film also has a very impressive cast and crew involved with the project, with Tom McLoughlin (director of Jason Lives) serving as a consultant and the late Steve Dash (Jason in Friday the 13th Part 2) in his final role.
The film also features music by the legendary Harry Manfredini!
Stay tuned for more updates! Vengeance is currently in post production.
