Tarantino Reportedly Developing Movie Adaptation Of Comic 'Django/Zorro'

Django Zorro Film Adaptation

Quentin Tarantino's totally magnificent Django Unchained received a sequel of sorts in the form of a comic book mashup mini-series from Dynamite Entertainment, titled Django/Zorro, and Collider reports that it's now getting a feature film adaptation! The site reports that Tarantino has partnered with Jerrod Carmichael to bring the pair-up comic book storyline to the big screen!

The site details:

"The story takes place several years after the events of Django Unchained. Django is still a bounty hunter, and since there’s a warrant on his head back east, he has mainly been plying his trade in the western states. After safely settling his wife, Broomhilda, near Chicago, he takes to the road once again, sending her funds whenever he completes a job. It’s by sheer chance that he encounters the aged and sophisticated Diego de la Vega — the famed Zorro — and soon finds himself fascinated by this unusual character, who can also hold his own in a fight. It’s not long before Django becomes Diego’s ‘bodyguard’ and joins him on a mission to free the local indigenous people from slavery."

Collider note that it's unclear whether Tarantino will be co-writing the script with Carmichael or if he’ll simply be overseeing/producing the adaptation. With Tarantino stating in the past that he'll be retiring after his tenth film, I highly doubt he'll be making the choice to end things with Django/Zorro.

Exciting news nonetheless! Stay tune for more details.
