It was officially announced earlier this year that Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will be getting the band back together in Hammerstone Studios and Orion’s Bill & Ted Face the Music. This week, we have some casting updates for the third film in the franchise, with Indiewire reporting that Samara Weaving (Mayhem, pictured above) will play Thea Preston, Bill’s daughter, with Brigette Lundy-Paine (“Atypical”, pictured below) as Billie Logan, Ted’s daughter!
“When we saw Samara and Brigette together, it was like deja vu. It was exactly the way we felt when we first saw Keanu and Alex. We are so thrilled to have this funny and unique pair join the Bill and Ted team!” said producer Scott Kroopf in an official statement.
Weaving also starred in "Ash vs. Evil Dead" and Netflix's The Babysitter. Next up, she will be starring in Fox Searchlight’s Ready or Not, which is set to hit theaters in August.
We also recently learned that William Sadler, who played the Grim Reaper in 1991 sequel Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, will be reprising the role in the new film.
Directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) from a screenplay by original Bill & Ted writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, production on Bill & Ted Face the Music is set to begin this summer!
Bill & Ted will return on April 21st, 2020.
