[Trailer] Black Metal And Real Estate Collide In Short Film 'Brutal Realty, Inc.'

Brutal Realty Inc. Short Film Trailer

I had the absolute pleasure of attending the World Premiere of Erik Boccio's (Blood Bath, Wiretap Scars) hilarious and bloody short film Brutal Realty, Inc. at this year's Cinepocalypse Film Fest.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of short films, so when one comes around that stands out, it has to be something insanely special and unique. Brutal Realty, Inc. takes some of my biggest loves in life: black metal, practical gore effects, and selling houses (not really), and crams them into a fifteen-minute short that's chock full of passion, laughs, carnage, and a truly inspiring metaphorical message.

It brings me great pleasure to share the film's trailer with you, check it out below along with more details.

The film is an absurd black metal tribute/satire of sorts that follows The Summoner (Samhain's London May), a black metal demon rocker, but that's just his day job. He works a nine-to-five like every other average Joe -- or in his case, average ghoul -- and becomes increasingly disillusioned by life's daily grind. Yearning to be more than a mere weapon wielded for evil, The Summoner sets his sights on his true passion: flipping houses. It's a struggle at first, but when an attack from a vicious gang of competing realtors forces him to embrace his intrinsic powers of destruction, The Summoner gains the confidence necessary to achieve his dreams.

The short also features Sarah Burns from HBO's "Barry" and a decimating musical score composed by Sanford Parker (Buried At Sea, Corrections House, Mirrors For Psychic Warfare), Dallas Thomas (Pelican), Bruce Lamont (Yakuza, Corrections House, Sick Gazelle), and Charlie Fell (Lord Mantis, Cobalt).

On Friday, June 21st, Brutal Realty, Inc. will screen in Brooklyn as the selected "Spotlight Short" for the 19th annual TromaDance Film Festival, followed by a Q&A with Erik Boccio and London May. I urge you to attend if you can!

I truly hope that the team behind this film receive the success they deserve, as I'd absolutely love to see more of The Summoner in the future!
