If you're a fan of the gooey, gory practical effects seen in many horror films throughout the '80s and early '90s, then we're gonna assume you're a fan of Chuck Russell’s The Blob, which oozing its way to Scream Factory this Halloween.
The 1988 remake is receiving the Collector's Edition treatment and will release on October 29th.
Here are the early details we have a current time to share. The Blu-ray is guaranteed to arrive with a slipcover in its first three months of release. The newly commissioned artwork pictured comes to us from Joel Robinson (Candyman, 10 to Midnight, In the Mouth of Madness). This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will feature the original theatrical artwork.
Scream Factory also notes that "extras will be announced on a later date, but we can confirm that we have produced already a slew of them!"
The film starred Kevin Dillon and Shawnee Smith, and centered on a deadly blob from another planet which eats anything and everything that moves: men, women, and children.
Pre-orders begin today on ShoutFactory.com, which includes the Blu-ray plus a rolled 18" x 24" poster of the new art. The poster is exclusive to Scream Factory and will be made at a limited run of 500 pieces.
