Back in 2000, Takashi Shimizu’s Ju-On: The Curse launched a J-horror franchise that went on to spawn multiple sequels and an American-made remake franchise. Coincidentally, a brand new American remake, titled The Grudge, is headed our way in 2020, and apparently the original Ju-On franchise will continue in a new series on Netflix!
Netflix currently has a bare-bones landing page for a series titled "Ju-On," with this synopsis:
"The J-horror classic franchise "Ju-On" was actually based on real events that occurred over four decades -- and the truth is even more terrifying."
According to Ramen Para Dos, the series was announced last month during a Netflix Japan event, with Sho Miyake on board as director.
The series is expected to arrive on Netflix next year.
