David Fincher this week appeared on the KCRW podcast, "The Treatment", where he announced that "Mindhunter" Season 2 will premiere on Netflix August 16th! The date comes straight from Fincher, even though Netflix hasn't officially announced the release date. We should be seeing a trailer for the season out of next week's San Diego Comic-Con.
The season will center around "The Atlanta child murders," which were a series of killings that took 1979-1981 and left 28 children, teenagers, and adults killed. All of the victims were African-American.
Not much else is known about the season at this point, but rumors did break late last year that Charles Manson would in Season 2, with Fincher reportedly casting Damon Herriman in the role, coincidently Herriman is the actor playing Manson in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
