Oliver Jackson-Cohen Will Play The Title Role In Leigh Whannell's 'Invisible Man'


Blumhouse and Leigh Whannell (Upgrade, Insidious: Chapter 3) are bringing The Invisible Man back to the big screen, with Elisabeth Moss, Storm Reid, Aldis Hodge and Harriet Dyer signed on to star.But what about the title character? Deadline reports today that Oliver Jackson-Cohen ("The Haunting of Hill House") will take on the role!

The actor was a standout in Netflix’s "Hill House" as Luke Crain, a recovering addict coping with childhood trauma in the chilling adaptation of Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House. Jackson-Cohen also starred in NBC's "Dracula" TV series and in 2012's The Raven.

The film follows Cecilia (Moss), who receives the news of her abusive ex-boyfriend’s suicide. She begins to re-build her life for the better. However, her sense of reality is put into question when she begins to suspect her deceased lover is not actually dead.

The lower-budget film from Blumhouse and Universal is said to be character-driven and scary.

Whannell wrote and is directing the new take on the iconic character.

The Invisible Man hits theaters on March 13th, 2020. THR reports that filming is expected to start this month in Sydney, Australia.
