'Daniel Isn't Real' Resurrects An Imaginary Friend This December

Danike Isn't Real Theatrical VOD Release December

Last month, Shudder and Samuel Goldwyn Films acquired Adam Egypt Mortimer‘s (Some Kind of Hate, Holidays) Daniel Isn’t Real, and we’ve learned this week that the Patrick Schwarzenegger-starring film will hit limited theaters and VOD platforms on December 6th via Samuel Goldwyn Films. It will then begin streaming on Shudder at a later date.

In the film, co-written by Mortimer and Brian DeLeeuw and based on DeLeeuw’s book In This Way I Was Saved, "troubled college freshman Luke (Miles Robbins) suffers a violent family trauma and resurrects his childhood imaginary friend Daniel (Patrick Schwarzenegger) to help him cope. Charismatic and full of manic energy, Daniel helps Luke to achieve his dreams, before pushing him to the very edge of sanity and into a desperate struggle for control of his mind, and his soul."

Sasha Lane, Hannah Marks and Mary Stuart Masterson also star.

Daniel Noah, Josh C. Waller, Lisa Whalen and Elijah Wood produced the film.
