John Carpenter has officially confirmed today that the battle between Michael Myers and Laurie Strode will continue next year and the following year with Halloween Kills in October 2020 and Halloween Ends in October 2021! Halloween Kills will release in theaters on October 16th, 2020, followed by Halloween Ends on October 15th, 2021. Jamie Lee Curtis is on board to star in both!
Bloody Disgusting had exclusively reported earlier this month that the sequels to Blumhouse's Halloween were being filmed back-to-back with David Gordon Green directing both, and today's news officially confirms this, as Gordon Green will indeed be directing Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends!
Gordon Green co-wrote the Halloween Kills script with Danny McBride and Scott Teems, and the Halloween Ends script with McBride, Paul Brad Logan and Chris Bernier. Blumhouse is once again teaming up with Universal Pictures, Trancas International Films, and Miramax to bring the new Halloween movies to life.
As the latter film's title suggests, it is intended to be the end of this Halloween saga.
Of course, with Carpenter confirming the news, he is once again involved, hopefully he'll be providing brand new scores for both films.
Malek Akkad, Jason Blum and Bill Block will produce, with John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jeanette Volturno, Couper Samuelson, Danny McBride, David Gordon Green and Ryan Freimann executive producing.
