Zack Snyder, who directed the James Gunn-penned Dawn of the Dead remake, is headed back into the undead horde for Netflix‘s big-budget zombie movie Army of the Dead for Netflix.
Production on the film officially kicked off this week and star Dave Bautista has already shared a photo of the entire cast on set, which includes Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi and Huma Qureshi and Garret Dillahunt.
"The adventure is set amid a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, during which a man assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted."
"There are no handcuffs on me at all with this one," Snyder told THR back in January. "It will be the most kick-ass, self-aware — but not in a wink-to-the-camera way — balls-to-the-wall zombie freakshow that anyone has ever seen."
Omari Hardwick, Chris D’Elia, Hiroyuki Sanada, Raúl Castillo, Nora Arnezeder, Matthias Schweighöfer, Samantha Win and Rich Cetrone also star.
Snyder will produce and direct through his own company Stone Quarry, with his wife Deborah, Army of the Dead was written by Joby Harold.
