Based on Bong Joon Ho’s 2013 film of the same name (which was based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob), "Snowpiercer" is finding new life as a TV series on TBS, and the first trailer for the post-apocalyptic, sci-fi thriller was just revealed at Comic-Con tonight.
The series was already renewed for a second season by WarnerMedia, and it looks to be for good reason, TBS seems to have a real winner on their hands, with Jennifer Connelly in the leading role of a series that’s sure to have a lot to say about the current political climate.
Watch the trailer below and expect the series to premiere in spring 2020!
"Snowpiercer" also stars Daveed Diggs, Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Benjamin Haigh (The Conjuring 2), Sasha Frolova, Katie McGuinness ("Roots"), Alison Wright ("The Americans"), Annalise Basso (Ouija: Origin of Evil, Oculus, Captain Fantastic), Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand, and Lena Hall.
Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a 1001 car, perpetually moving train that circles the globe. The series will premiere in Spring 2020 on TBS.
Snowpiercer is produced by Tomorrow Studios (a joint venture between Marty Adelstein and ITV Studios), along with CJ Entertainment, who produced the original film.
