David Grann’s best-selling book, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI, chronicled one of the most notorious crimes in American history, and we recently learned that Martin Scorsese will be in the director's chair for the adaptation with frequent collaborator Leonardo DiCaprio as his leading man!

This week, Tulsa World reports that Scorsese will be filming the movie in Osage County, and the outlet also reveals that Robert De Niro will reportedly star alongside DiCaprio as William Hale, one of the book’s main characters.

De Niro and DiCaprio first appeared on screen together in 1993’s This Boy’s Life.

Paramount has closed a deal to finance and distribute Killers of the Flower Moon. The bulk of pre-production is expected to occur in November, with filming projected for the spring and summer of 2020.

"In 1920s Oklahoma, the Osage Nation were the richest people per capita in the world, after oil was discovered under their land. And then they were murdered, one by one. As the death toll rose, the newly created FBI took up the case and unraveled a chilling conspiracy and one of the most monstrous crimes in American history."

The film was written by Eric Roth, and it’s being produced by Scorsese alongside Imperative Entertainment’s Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas, along with Sikelia Productions’ Emma Tillinger Koskoff and DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions.
