Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, The Strangers: Prey at Night) returned to the director’s chair for 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, the sequel to 2017’s shark attack flick, and with the film swimming into theaters in just a few weeks, we finally have a full trailer!
"The film will tell the story of four teens diving in a ruined underwater city, who quickly find themselves in a watery hell as their adventure turns to horror when they learn they are not alone in the submerged caves. As they swim deeper into the claustrophobic labyrinth of caves they enter the territory of the deadliest shark species in the ocean."
It's basically Neil Marshall's The Descent... with sharks.
The footage shown in the trailer is incredibly tense, but my only issue with it is that it seems a bit spoiler-heavy, and quite possibly ruins a huge bloody chunk of the finale. Watch with caution.
47 Meters Down: Uncaged stars Brec Bassinger, Sophie Nélisse (The Book Thief), John Corbett ("Sex And The City"), Nia Long ("Empire"), Corinne Foxx, Sistine Stallone, Brianne Tju ("Scream" TV series), Davi Santos (Polaroid) and Khylin Rhambo ("Teen Wolf")
Foxx and Stallone, the daughters of Jamie Foxx and Sylvester Stallone, respectively, will be making their film debuts.
47 Meters Down: Uncaged takes a bite out of theaters on August 16th, 2019.
