Leigh Whannell's hyper-violent action horror film, Upgrade (read our review), was one of my favorite films of 2018. The film blended the best parts of "The Six Million Dollar Man" with a revenge story much like Death Wish, and I absolutely loved its dark humor and gruesome action sequences. If you share the same feelings toward the film as myself, then you'll be happy to know that it's receiving a limited edition Blu-ray release!
The fine folks at Second Sight Films will present Upgrade in a rigid slipcase featuring new artwork by Adam Stothard, with a poster featuring the new artwork and a 40-page soft cover book with new essays by Jon Towlson and Scott Harrison.
Upgrade is set in a near-future world, where technology controls everything, technophobe Grey Trace is the victim of a brutal mugging that leaves his wife dead and him paralyzed. A reclusive billionaire inventor offers him an experimental cure, an A.I. implant called STEM. Grey accepts and is immediately transformed into an unstoppable killing machine with enhanced strength and agility. Now it’s payback time.
