'Crawl' Takes A Bite Out Of Blu-ray And DVD In October

Crypt Teaze's Sean Ellis was a huge fan of Alexandre Aja's Crawl when it released in theaters back in July (check out his episode of Ellissinema), and we've now learned that the alligator horror film will be released digitally on September 24th, followed by Blu-ray and DVD on October 15th.

In the film, when a massive hurricane hits her Florida hometown, Haley (Kaya Scodelario) ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father (Barry Pepper). Finding him gravely injured in the crawl space of their family home, the two become trapped by quickly encroaching floodwaters. As time runs out to escape the strengthening storm, Haley and her father discover that the rising water level is the least of their fears.

Aja directed Crawl from a screenplay by Michael Rasmussen and Shawn Rasmussen. Craig Flores (300), Sam Raimi (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead) and Aja produced.

Blu-ray/DVD special features include:

  • Beneath Crawl featurette

  • Category 5 Gators: The VFX of Crawl featurette

  • Alligator Attacks

  • Alternate opening

  • Introduction to alternate opening

  • Deleted and extended scenes
