Early last month, we learned that Stephen King has written a brand new ending to "The Stand" for the upcoming CBS All Access limited series, along with the announcement of the series' first four cast members, and this week another wave of actors have joined the cast.

Collider reports that Alexander Skarsgård ("True Blood", Straw Dogs) will play the pivotal role of The Man in Black himself, Randall Flagg.

Earlier this week, Stephen King appeared on ABC's The View, where he revealed more cast members, including Jovan Adepo ("The Leftovers") as Larry Underwood, Owen Teague ("Bloodline") as Harold Lauder, Brad William Henke ("Orange Is the New Black") as Tom Cullen, and Daniel Sunjata ("Rescue Me") as Cobb. The View host Whoopi Goldberg confirmed that she will play Mother Abagail.

Previously announced cast members include James Marsden as Stu Redman, Amber Heard as Nadine Cross, Odessa Young as Frannie Goldsmith, and Henry Zaga as Nick Andros. Marilyn Manson is supposedly starring in the series, but we haven't heard an update since the initial announcement.

"The Stand" will be produced by CBS Television Studios. Josh Boone and Ben Cavell will write and executive produce, with Boone also directing. Roy Lee, Jimmy Miller and Richard P. Rubinstein will also serve as executive producers with Will Weiske and Miri Yoon as co-executive producers. Knate Lee, Jill Killington and Owen King will serve as producers.

In Stephen King's The Stand, an apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the 108-year-old other Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors. Their worst nightmares are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers: Randall Flagg, the Dark Man.
