Drenched in blood-soaked '80s nostalgia, the "American Horror Story: 1984" opening credits were posted on franchise creator Ryan Murphy's Instagram page earlier today, and you can check them out below!
"I am so excited to share with you the new AMERICAN HORROR STORY title sequence by our longtime collaborator Kyle Cooper and our new friend Corey Vega, who ignited this concept with an original “fan" cut he posted on Twitter after the 1984 season was announced," said Murphy. "I liked it so much, I decided to bring him on board to work together with Kyle as they evolved the concept into something major. Congratulations Corey! 1980s horror never looked so good."
The series takes obvious inspiration from horror's greatest decade, a time when slasher icons dominated the big screen. Set against a classic summer camp backdrop, with an escaped asylum patient on the loose, "AHS: 1984" is sure to be a real treat for fans of classic slasher flicks!
The new season stars Matthew Morrison, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, Leslie Grossman, Gus Kenworthy, Angelica Ross, and Mitch Pileggi.
The new season premieres on Wednesday, September 18th at 10:00pm EST on FX.
