Wintry 'Never Hike Alone' Prequel To Kick Off 'Friday The 13th' Fan Film Web Series

Never Hike in the Snow Indiegogo

For the first time ever, we'll see Jason slicing and dicing through the snow!

With the official franchise at a stand still, we've seen an influx in the amount of Friday the 13th fans films released in recent years, most notably Vincente DiSanti's critically acclaimed Never Hike Alone, one of the most successful fan films of all time. Hell, the film from DiSanti and his team at Womp Stomp Films continues to make its festival rounds two years after its initial release, if that tells you anything about the film's popularity.

Now, Womp Stomp are gearing up to set out on their most ambitious project yet, a multi-part saga that will bring the story of Never Hike Alone to an end. Starting with the winter-set prequel Never Hike in the Snow.

More details are dished out in the following press release:

Beginning in the early Winter of 2020, Womp Stomp Films will release four additional entries into the Never Hike Alone Web Series, kicking things off with a winter-set prequel. Never Hike in the Snow is set 3 months prior to the events of Never Hike Alone and follows the strange disappearance of Mark Hill, a Crystal Lake local who went for a hike one day in the dead of winter and never came home. DiSanti explains, “We thought it would be fun to kick things off by answering Friday the 13th fans call to see a Jason story set in the snow.”

In the months following Never Hike In The Snow, production will begin on three additional entries: Never Hike Alone II: Never Hike Again, Never Hike Alone III: Jason Takes Crystal Lake, and Never Hike Alone IV: The Final Hike. Each entry will continue where the previous left off and feature a slew of horrifying kills at the hands of Jason Voorhees. “Rather than attempting to fund and produce an entire feature, we decided to break the acts into episodes that will range from 20-30 minutes, each featuring its own crowdfunding campaign and self-contained budget.”

Andrew Leighty is set to return as adventure vlogger Kyle McLeod and will be joined by a talented cast of Friday the 13th alumni including Thom Mathews (Tommy Jarvis, Friday the 13th Part 6), Vinny Guastaferro (Sheriff Rick Cologne, Friday the 13th Part 6), and Douglas Tait (Jason Voorhees, Freddy vs. Jason), who will each play a critical role in the saga.

Bringing this ambitious project to life is where the Friday the 13th community comes in. Utilizing the power of the Indiegogo platform, Womp Stomp Films intends to raise the funding for each episode by offering exciting perks, exclusive Blu-Rays, and other rare opportunities as a thank you for helping realize their creative vision. The campaign for Never Hike in the Snow is now live, and it aims to raise $50,000 in an effort to create one of the most impactful and exciting fan-funded projects to date.

The Never Hike Alone saga is a non-profit Friday the 13th fan project created by Vincente DiSanti and Womp Stomp Films. They are in no way affiliated with Paramount Pictures, New Lines Cinemas, Warner Bros. Entertainment, or any other Friday the 13th franchise rights holders. Additional funding raised by the production will be donated to the Penny Pines Reforestation Project and the JD Martz Recovery Fund.
