Ahead of the sequel's arrival in theaters next week, the final trailer for Ruben Fleischer‘s Zombieland: Double Tap has been unleashed, and with it comes an unexpected surprise.
It appears that Bill Murray will make a return in a meta-like sequence wherein he discusses his role in the first film, which was undoubtedly one of the best cameo roles in the history of cinema. It's rather unclear how, or even if, this will play into the sequel, as the snippet is pretty vague. We'll just have to wait until next week to find out!
Get your final look at Zombieland: Double Tap below. The trailer is of the "red band" sort, so don't go watching it at work or school. Or do, I could really care less.
In the sequel, through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.
Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin will all reprise their roles, with Thomas Middleditch, Zoey Deutch, Avan Jogia, Luke Wilson and Rosario Dawson rounding out the cast.
Original film scribes, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, wrote the script. Gavin Polone returns as producer, while Reese and Wernick will also serve as executive producers.
