Earlier this year, writer/director Scott Dunn and producer Gina Gomez Dunn released their supernatural comedy film Mandao of the Dead on Blu-ray, Amazon Prime, iTunes, and Vimeo on Demand. They're now gearing up for a sequel to the cult favorite and have launched a Kickstarter campaign in order to make if happen.
Robyn Ullman reviewed Mandao of the Dead back in January, stating the film featured "a myriad of terrifying and humorous misadventures led by a lovable cast."
The first film was set around Halloween, but Mandao Returns, the second in a trilogy of films, will take place around Christmas. After abstaining from astral projecting, Jay Mandao’s life starts to unravel. Jay’s cousin Andy hatches a plan to steal money from the past after encountering some serious financial issues. To make matters worse, they encounter an evil ghost intent on possessing one of their bodies to live again. Jay, Jackson, Cousin Andy, and their cab driver Fer must team up to stop the entity. Will they succeed?
The filmmakers hope to raise $20,000 for their sequel, and they have plenty of great perks up for grabs in order to reach their goal, including both films on Blu-ray, DVD or as digital downloads, signed posters, a monster plush doll, Mandao's signed cereal box, and much more.

Also, if you plan on attending LA Comic-Con, Mandao of the Dead will be screening there on Sunday, October 13th, 2019.
