Lucio Fulci's 'Conquest' Is Coming To Blu-ray With An All-New HD Master

After spilling buckets of blood and guts with Zombie and his Gates of Hell Trilogy, Italian maestro Lucio Fulci gave the fantasy genre a shot with the bizarre 1983 film Conquest, a blatant but utterly fantastic attempt to cash in on Conan the Barbarian's popularity.

The film also features one of Claudio Simonetti’s best, non-Goblin synth scores.

Certainly not cashing in on Conquest's popularity, Code Red DVD have announced that they'll be bringing the film to Blu-ray with an all-new HD master, and if you're an avid Fulci fan, like myself, this is great news!

In the film starring Jorge Rivero (Hit Man, Fist Fighter 2), from a place beyond time, a cruel and evil shadow has fallen over the peaceful land of Cronos. The demon sorceress Ocron controls Cronos' sun, which threatens the lives of all. The only hope for the people lies with two warriors who are willing to enter Ocron's dark domain to destroy her.

Bonus features include a conversation with Rivero, Audio Commentary with film historians Troy Howarth and Nathaniel Thompson and the film's trailer.

The Blu-ray includes a limited edition slipcover with artwork by Wes Benscoter while supplies last.

A release date has yet to be announced, but the Blu-ray is listed as "coming soon" on Ronin Flix's site.
