[Trailer] A Family Reunion Takes An Abrupt Dark Turn In Lucky Mckee's 'Kindred Sprits'

Director Lucky McKee, who is best known for May or his transgressive masterpiece The Woman, returned this year with Kindred Spirits, which had its World Premiere at this summer's Cinepocalypse Film Festival.

Chase reviewed the film following its premiere, stating that "it’s got everything; well-developed characters you love or loathe, tension that builds until you’re falling off the edge of your seat, and gore effects that’ll make you squeamish in the best possible way."

Thora Birch (Hocus Pocus, Ghost World) leads the cast, with Macon Blair (Green Room) and Caitlin Stasey (Fear, Inc.) also starring.

In the film, Birch plays Chloe, a single mother in a relationship with Alex (Blair). Chloe’s life is turned upside down when her sister, Sadie (Stasey) comes home after a long unexplained absence. Though Sadie seems to want to settle in with her sister and 17-year-old niece (becoming quite a handful herself), she’s actually a deeply disturbed young woman who has a sinister agenda regarding anyone who gets between her and her big sister.

Chris Sivertson (The Lost, I Know Who Killed Me) wrote the script.
