Texas Chain Saw Massacre Reboot Fede Alvarez Chris Thomas Devlin

After rebooting the Evil Dead franchise in glorious fashion back in 2013, Fede Alvarez (Don't Breathe, The Girl in the Spider’s Web) will next be lending his unique vision and talents as the producer for another beloved horror franchise with Legendary's upcoming Texas Chain Saw Massacre reboot.

Multiple sources, including Deadline, have reported that Alvarez and his writing partner Rodolfo Sayagues have closed an overall deal with Legendary Pictures.

The site notes that the duo will create, develop and produce films for Legendary through their Bad Hombre Films banner, one of the films being the reboot of Tobe Hooper's 1974 classic.

Newcomer Chris Thomas Devlin will write the screenplay for the reboot, which will be the ninth film in the franchise. Devlin also wrote the 2018 Black List and Blood List script for Cobweb, a film currently in development at Lionsgate and Vertigo, which tells the story of a girl living inside the walls of a family's house.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is currently in the very early stages of development, but we'll be sure to keep you updated as more details become available. In the meantime, give us your thoughts on the reboot in the comments below!
