Pre-production has commenced on Creatures, the new movie from Tony Jopia, the director that brought you Cute Little Buggers and Crying Wolf, the executive producer of The Hive (Romain Barbey), the creator of Good Tidings (Stu Jopia) and the puppet team behind "Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance" (Stitches and Glue).
"If you loved the classics Night of the Creeps, Critters, Dead Heat, Ghoulies, They Live and Gremlins then you’re in for a real treat," the teams at Jopia Productions and Creatures Media LLC promised. "Our passion lies in great practical SFX, so we wanted to deliver on the goods by bringing some creatively nasty SFX and puppet creature work that will make heads turn, literally!"
In Creatures, a group of astronomy students get more than they bargained for after finding an injured alien who is being targeted by a group of bloodthirsty alien creatures.
"Creatures is for all the fans of '80s pint sized creature feature movies. It really does has a bit of everything, action, comedy, sci-fi thrills and tons of gore, a true love letter to movies that I grew up with," said producer Stu Jopia.
Creatures shoots in the UK February 2020 with a planned Christmas 2020 theatrical and physical release. Check out the teaser poster below and be sure to follow the film on Facebook for more updates.
