Well, today's the big day! One of this year's best films, The Head Hunter, has made its way onto Shudder, and in what Crypt Teaze contributor Sean Ellis has officially dubbed "Head Hunter Week" on his Ellissinema Podcast, filmmakers Jordan Downey and Kevin Stewart, along with actor Christopher Rygh, joined Sean to discuss the masterwork of low budget filmmaking.

The Head Hunter will definitely be featured on both mine and Sean's "top 10" list for 2019. For me, the film is currently neck and neck with Tarantino's Once Upon A Time in Hollywood as my favorite film of the year. It goes without saying, see this film any way that you can, even if it means supporting Shudder. Although, I suggest picking up the DVD release.
In the film set on the outskirts of a kingdom, a quiet but fierce medieval warrior (Rygh) protects the realm from monsters and the occult. His gruesome collection of heads is missing only one — the monster that killed his daughter (Cora Kaufman) years ago. Driven by revenge, he travels wild expanses on horseback looking for the monster. When his second chance arrives, it’s in a way far more horrifying than he ever imagined.
